The global situation in 2026 is too large to tackle, so let's discuss what's happening on our peninsula, in our towns, and in our backyards. The real estate market experienced a few rumbles of its own, with buyers pushing the pause button and sellers facing more days on market than expected. It was a year of changing market conditions. There are currently 84 single-family homes for sale on the entire Palos Verdes Peninsula. 33 single-family homes are in escrow with accepted offers, and 551 single-family homes were sold on the Palos Verdes Peninsula during 2025.  Those numbers reflect PV real estate conditions that still favor sellers, but buyers have more negotiating power than in recent years. Buyers are surely rejoicing, but Palos Verdes Sellers need not despair. On a scale of 1- 10, with "1" a raging sellers' market and "10" a buyer's paradise, the Palos Verdes Peninsula stands at a strong 3. However, it was a challenging year for PV with land movement and, consequently, falling prices in the affected areas.
