On the other hand, it's been a long and frustrating quest for buyers in search of a Palos Verdes home to call their own. Many of my buyer clients have tried many times, only to be outbid by other buyers on the same frustrating house-hunting journey. The ups and downs of the past year presented challenges beyond our wildest expectations. Month in and month out, the real estate market continued a steady climb upward without faltering throughout the pandemic and economic uncertainty. Lagging inventory could not meet the increased demand. Many properties received overbids and multiple offers. It was not uncommon to receive three to four offers per property. It continues to be a challenging housing market for all parties. Prices are up and inventory is low as we enter the 2021 spring and summer selling season. Inventory keeps falling; prices continue to rise. Supply is low; demand is high. That's my response when someone asks about the present housing market. It's certainly a true statement for Rancho Palos Verdes. At the beginning of the month, there were 38 Rancho Palos Verdes single-family homes listed for sale. 53 RPV homes were in escrow with accepted offers.
